Congratulations to Capt. Steve Gasecki for being inducted into the Southington High School Wall of Honor in Southington, Connecticut on Oct. 23, 2017.  Gasecki is a 1977 graduate of the High School.  The Wall of Honor recognizes graduates for lifetime achievement, community service, major career accomplishments and humanitarian work.  After graduating from SHS with honors, Gasecki attended the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, Kings Point NY and earned his bachelor degree and U.S. Merchant Marine Third Mate license in 1981.  He embarked on a career in the Merchant Marine rising to the position of Ship Master and served in the military sealift efforts of the first Gulf War.  In 1994 he was appointed to the Canaveral Pilots Association after obtaining the highest score for the deputy pilot position on the State of Florida Board of Pilot Commissioners comprehensive testing process.  He has served with the Canaveral Pilots for 23 years.
