Congratulations to Canaveral Pilot Capt. Doug Brown, “Unit Lima”, who is retiring after 18 years service at Port Canaveral. Prior to joining the pilots, Capt. Brown served in the U.S. flag Merchant Marine for 15 years including 6 years as Captain.  He is a 1982 graduate of the Maine Maritime Academy. Capt. Brown was recognized in 2017 with a Distinguished Merit Award at the Space Coast Public Service Awards for his actions while piloting an outbound cruise ship to maneuver to avoid two tourists who were in the ship channel after falling off a jet ski.  He served as co-Chairman of the Canaveral Pilots Association from 2011 to 2016.   Fair Winds & Following Seas to Doug & Sue as they embark on the next leg of their voyage!
