PORT CANAVERAL, FL, March 14, 2020 – All four of the major cruise lines which operate out of Port Canaveral, Florida have suspended cruise operations due to the COVID-19 pandemic.   Carnival, Disney, Norwegian, and Royal Caribbean have each made announcements that cruises are suspended or paused.  Carnival Cruise Lines announced that operations will be paused until April 10.  Disney Cruise Lines has suspended cruises through the end of March.  Norwegian’s suspension of cruises lasts through April 11 and Royal Caribbean announced a suspension of 30 days.  The Canaveral Pilots Association remains fully staffed and operational to serve the movement of all vessel traffic at Port Canaveral during these extraordinary circumstances including any movements of cruise ships related to temporary berthing.   The association is committed to working closely with the Canaveral Port Authority, the U.S Coast Guard, all government agencies, port stakeholders, and pilotage customers to provide safe and reliable pilotage service at Port Canaveral.  The association has implemented recommended steps to prevent the spread of COVID-19 for the safety of our members, employees, and clients.  For more information on cruise operations please contact the individual cruise line directly.  For any questions regarding pilotage at Port Canaveral contact the Canaveral Pilots Association at 321-783-4645 or by email: thecanaveralpilots@msn.com.
