Pilots Volunteer With Propeller Club’s Keep Brevard Beautiful Cleanup

Members of the Canaveral Pilots Association are among a core group of volunteers from the Propeller Club of Port Canaveral who have been cleaning up a Keep Brevard Beautiful Adopt-A-Shore site for many years.  The site, affectionately known as “Propeller Club Park”, is located at the north end of North Banana River Drive on east Merritt Island where it dead ends at the Barge Canal just north of State Road 528.  The shoreline is on Canaveral Port Authority property.  The area is popular with local fishermen but unfortunately some visitors leave behind trash and others apparently believe it is OK to dump household or business related waste at the property, despite the prominently displayed “No Dumping” signs.  The volunteers meet at least every other month on the Saturday morning following the monthly Propeller Club luncheon to clean up the property.  The core group of volunteers is always ready to welcome new helpers to this effort.  For more information on how to help visit www.propellerclubcanaveral.com or email propellerclubcanaveral@gmail.com.
